Historic. Goerge Washington stayed here with his troops..as well as the old Dutch Parsonage. spent a cold winter there
What a hidden gem. Was visiting from out of town, and looking for a historic site to visit. Had a fabulous tour of the house and learned about its history, and Washington’s time here. For anyone in the area with even a modest interest in history, the Wallace house is a great place to visit. The tour can easily be completed in an hour, including the parsonage across the street.
This is a quiet hidden gem. A piece of revolutionary war era history that is overshadowed by its cousins. We had a delightfully thorough tour of the place. I wish this place could get more exposure and patronage so they can continue to preserve it. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area!
Great place for quick history lesson. Our guide Hillary was very knowledgeable, patient, and went out of her way to walk us through as much detail as we wanted. This place does not pretend to be a museum, but it does give you a very real sense of how folks lived at the time.
This place was Amazing and the people who gave us the tour did an awesome job! they know a lot about the history of the homes and were very happy to answer any questions...If you Love History then check out this place!
